Everton's New Era Begins with Friedkin Group Takeover.

Everton fans just got an early Christmas gift! The long wait for new owners is finally over, as the Friedkin Group has been officially announced as the club's new owners this Thursday morning.

These Texas billionaires are all about bringing stability to the club, which is the main message they want to share with the supporters. Dan Friedkin, a stunt pilot and aviation expert with a net worth of £4.8 billion, will be at the helm of this new venture. He’s brought in Marc Watts as the executive chairman, and Ana Dunkel will step in as the financial director. Colin Chong will keep his position as interim CEO.

Friedkin stated: ‘Dear Evertonians, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support.

I take immense pride in welcoming one of England’s most historic football clubs to our global family, The Friedkin Group.

‘Everton represents a proud legacy, and we are honoured to become custodians of this great institution. The Friedkin Group is a diverse family of companies with a global footprint spanning industries such as sports, automotive, entertainment, hospitality, and adventure.

‘Across all our endeavours, we strive to deliver extraordinary experiences that ignite people’s passions. We are thrilled to bring this ethos to Everton and the Liverpool City Region.

‘Whilst we are new to the club, we fully understand the vital role Everton plays in local culture, history, and the lives of Evertonians here and around the world. We are deeply committed to honouring this legacy while contributing positively to the community, economy, and people of this remarkable city.’

Moshiri released his own statement after the news broke, mentioning that the new owners represented 'the best outcome' after years of takeover speculation.

'I truly believe that the transaction with The Friedkin Group is the best outcome for the Club and its future success,' His statement read. 'There has been a huge team effort in getting to this stage and I would like to personally thank my Board colleagues John Spellman and Colin Chong and all the senior management team including Katie, James, Richard and of course Kevin and Sean for their huge commitment to the Club.

'Despite a challenging geopolitical backdrop, a significant amount has been achieved over the last couple of years including the delivery of a new sporting department, the stabilisation of our finances and the delivery of our iconic new stadium.

'I now hand over to new owners confident in the outlook for the Club and that our incredible fans will see the success on the pitch that they so thoroughly deserve.

The Friedkins have notably transformed a big chunk of Everton's debt into equity, and they've also pumped in some new cash, which is not related to any loans.

The new owners are really focused on bringing stability to the club, and Watts has outlined six main objectives: boost the men’s team with smart and strategic investments; develop talent from the academy; create a unique strategy for the women’s team both on and off the field; honor the club’s traditions while keeping Everton central to the community; make the most of the new stadium’s commercial opportunities; and elevate the club’s status as a one-of-a-kind historical name globally.

The Friedkins are set to support manager Sean Dyche and director of football Kevin Thelwell, with no major changes expected in either area.

The group's representatives are set to attend the Toffees' match against title-contending Chelsea this Sunday.

The Friedkin Group’s takeover of Everton marks an exciting new chapter for the club, bringing much-needed stability and fresh energy. With their vast experience across various industries and a clear commitment to the club’s success, the Friedkins are poised to honor Everton’s rich legacy while driving it forward.

Their focus on smart investments, nurturing talent, and strengthening community ties signals a promising future for both the men's and women's teams. Fans can look forward to a more prosperous era, with a renewed sense of optimism and growth, both on and off the pitch. Everton’s best days may well be ahead.
