Lizzo Responds After Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Dismissal.

Lizzo called it a "big victory."

Lizzo recently opened up about dealing with some serious sexual harassment lawsuits from her dancers and her ex-stylist while chatting on the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast. The lawsuit from her stylist, Asha Daniels, has been thrown out by a judge in California. But Daniels is still pursuing legal action against Lizzo’s touring and payroll companies.

"I was literally living in my dream, and then the tour ended, and three ex-dancers just completely, like, blindsided me with a lawsuit," Lizzo told Palmer. "I was very deeply hurt because these were three ex-dancers, so they weren't on the tour. They didn't, like, finish the tour out with us. But even regardless of that, these were people that I gave opportunities to. These were people that — I liked them and appreciated them as dancers, respected them as dancers. So I was like, what? But then I heard all the other things like sexual harassment, and I was like, they're trying well, I don't know what they're trying to do, but these are the types of things that the media can turn into something that it's not."

Lizzo mentioned that she doesn't have any regrets about what happened. She insisted, "I didn't do anything wrong." She found the sexual harassment claims, which she called "ridiculous," to be particularly upsetting. The dancers—Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez—sued Lizzo in August 2023, claiming she engaged in sexual, religious, and racial harassment, along with disability discrimination, assault, and false imprisonment. One dancer even made news for saying that Lizzo coerced them into touching nude performers in Amsterdam’s famous Red Light District.

In another part of the interview, Lizzo shared that she's already diving into new music. “A lot of the songs are me working through my thoughts,” she mentioned. “I’ve rediscovered my purpose… I’m pouring everything into my art.”

Lizzo's dismissal of the sexual harassment lawsuit may appear as a legal victory, but the accusations from her former dancers and stylist cast a shadow over her reputation. While she denies any wrongdoing, the serious nature of the allegations, including claims of sexual, racial, and disability discrimination, raises questions about her conduct behind the scenes.

Her attempt to downplay the situation and dismiss the accusations as "ridiculous" could alienate supporters and tarnish her image further. Despite her new music projects, the damage caused by these lawsuits may linger, impacting her public perception and career for the long term.
