Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan Shock Fans with Breakup News!.

The couple ignited dating rumors when they were seen having dinner together in Los Angeles in early December 2023.

Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have gone their separate ways.

A source has revealed that the couple has called it quits for now, roughly a year after they started dating.

"They are both young and career-focused, so they've decided to take a break,"

Keoghan and Carpenter kicked off the romance buzz when they were seen having dinner together in Los Angeles in early December 2023.

The Oscar-nominated actor and the "Espresso" singer first met at Paris Fashion Week, where they both attended a Givenchy show the previous September.

Since then, they've been spotted cheering each other on in various endeavors and on social media, with Keoghan often leaving adorable comments on Carpenter's Instagram. The Saltburn star was also in the audience during his then-girlfriend's Coachella performance last April and even appeared in her "Please Please Please" music video in June.

While talking with CBS Sunday Morning’s Tracy Smith in October, Carpenter revealed that when it came to casting the video, she used her “not-even-biased opinion” — though, she admitted, it also helped that Keoghan was sitting right next to her.

"I was like, 'Who's the greatest actor that I can find for this music video?' And he was next to me in a chair,” Carpenter said. “And he was so excited about it.”

Compliments were exchanged all around. Following the Recording Academy's announcement of the 2025 Grammy Awards nominees on November 8, Keoghan expressed how “proud” he was of Carpenter while appearing on The Jess Cagle Show.

Following her six nominations — including a song of the year nomination for "Please Please Please" — the Irish actor said, “Brilliant, I know. Absolutely brilliant. Feckin’ brilliant, lads.”

“No, I’m really, really happy for her, honestly, and I got to get on the phone soon,” he continued on the SiriusXM show, before teasing the hosts for putting him “on the spot.”

The hosts joked that he must have known Carpenter's hit was on its way to the Grammys while he was working on the video, and he replied, “Yes, definite, definite.”

“I don't know anyone who works as hard. I'm in awe watching her work and how committed and the standards that she sets,” Keoghan added. “Especially being on that music video, just, she knows the vision. She knows what she wants.”

Despite their decision to take a break after nearly a year of dating, Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have shared a supportive and encouraging relationship. Both are focused on their careers, with Keoghan expressing admiration for Carpenter's work ethic and achievements, including her Grammy nominations.

Their bond, which started at Paris Fashion Week and flourished through mutual support at events like Coachella, remains one of deep respect. Carpenter also cast Keoghan in her "Please Please Please" music video, further highlighting their strong connection. While they are taking time apart, their positive outlook and shared achievements demonstrate the strength of their partnership.
