Julia Haart Secures $65M Home & $10M Divorce Settlement.

Julia Haart, the star of Netflix's My Unorthodox Life, has been granted control over the business she operated during her marriage to Silvio Scaglia, in addition to the $65 million Tribeca penthouse they shared and nearly $10 million in cash, as reported by Page Six. Haart and Scaglia, who co-managed Elite World Models and the luxury lingerie brand La Perla, have been engaged in a complicated legal dispute since Haart initiated divorce proceedings in 2022.

After she filed for divorce, Scaglia sought to remove her from her position within the company. Haart argued that she was entitled to half of Freedom Holding, which encompasses Elite World Group and their joint residence, in return for her role as CEO. Scaglia contested this claim, asserting that she possessed only a small stake in the company.

He further alleged that she misappropriated funds and took possession of a company Bentley; however, he did not present any evidence to support these allegations in court. In a recent decision, Judge Jeffrey Pearlman issued a default judgment in favor of Haart after Scaglia withdrew from the legal proceedings. This judgment granted Haart a 50% ownership interest in Freedom Holding and conferred upon her power of attorney over Scaglia's 50%, allowing her to make independent decisions regarding the company. Additionally, Haart was awarded the 16-room Tribeca triplex penthouse located at 70 Vestry, which Scaglia had purchased for $55 million in 2018.

She has resided there since the commencement of the divorce proceedings. The residence includes five bedrooms, five bathrooms, two kitchens, a library, a gallery, and more than 3,600 square feet of terrace space. The court also ordered Scaglia to pay Haart $7.4 million in unpaid management fees for the years 2019 to 2021. Moreover, she is entitled to half of the proceeds from a Kees Van Dongen painting that Scaglia sold for $2,972,632. She will also receive half of the cash withdrawals made by Scaglia from their businesses since the divorce proceedings began, with the precise amount yet to be determined.

Following the ruling, Haart conveyed her relief and appreciation. “Words cannot fully express the immense joy and gratitude I feel in my heart. Throughout this journey, I held steadfast to my belief in truth and justice, deeply trusting that if I stayed the course, the truth would ultimately prevail and the wrongs done to me would be made right. I am profoundly grateful to God for granting me the strength to persevere and to Judge Pearlman for holding Silvio accountable and ensuring that justice was served,” she stated to Page Six. Haart’s recent legal triumph follows her successful appeal in October regarding the fraud case against Scaglia, enabling her to advance with her lawsuit.

The ruling allows her to continue her lawsuit against him and several others concerning allegations that he misled her into thinking she was entitled to 50% of Freedom Holding in exchange for her role as CEO. In response, Scaglia has dismissed the ruling as a “total joke,” claiming that Freedom Holding and its subsidiaries are premarital assets acquired in 2011, well before he met Haart. He criticized her past, present, and future, asserting that she “was nothing then, she is nothing now, and will be nothing in the future.”

Julia Haart's legal victory marks a significant milestone in her journey of resilience and determination. As a trailblazer in the fashion and business worlds, she has proven her ability to overcome adversity and stand firm in the face of challenges. Gaining control of her company, a luxurious Tribeca penthouse, and financial restitution underscores her commitment to justice and fairness.
