Kim Zolciak’s Divorce Lawyer Pursues $55K Debt While She's Still Married.
Kim Zolciak's financial circumstances are reportedly deteriorating, as the reality television personality is said to be in debt to her attorney amid her contentious divorce from Kroy Biermann.
Court documents obtained by In Touch indicate that her divorce attorneys have placed a lien on her Georgia residence due to her failure to settle outstanding bills. Kim is currently represented by Snider & Snider PC, although this arrangement may not endure given her escalating financial obligations to the firm, which reportedly exceed $55,000.
Both Kim and her estranged spouse have vacated the Georgia mansion. Despite efforts to delay the sale for several years, they were unable to secure a buyer for the property, which was listed for $3 million in October 2023. The bank is now moving forward with foreclosure proceedings.
The law firm is expected to recover the owed amount once the Georgia home is sold. Earlier this year, the attorneys filed an additional lien against the property for $77,000.
Although Kim may no longer retain the services of Snider & Snider, she will require legal representation as her divorce proceedings continue. The couple filed for divorce in May 2023, and the situation has been fraught with conflict since then. They initially resisted vacating the Georgia property, despite numerous domestic incidents and various allegations. Recently, both Kim and Kroy have accused one another of theft.
Recently, it was disclosed that Kim's bank account is subject to garnishment to settle an outstanding debt. American Express has initiated legal action against the former Real Housewives star for a credit card debt originating in 2018, amounting to over $215,000, which Kim has reportedly failed to repay. The court has granted American Express's petition to garnish her account at Truist Bank.
Kim and Kroy, parents to six children, were once estimated to have a net worth of $8 million; however, they have been criticized for their financial management. The ongoing divorce proceedings between the former couple have further exacerbated tensions. Kim has been observed selling her designer items online to alleviate her financial burdens, as she is currently not appearing on reality television and is prioritizing her family's circumstances.
Kim Zolciak's financial troubles and ongoing divorce from Kroy Biermann paint a difficult picture of her current situation. With mounting debts, including a $55,000 lien from her attorneys and a $215,000 credit card debt, her financial stability has been severely compromised.
