Mel Gibson Loses $14.5M Mansion to L.A. Fire Whilst Filming Rogan Podcast.

Mel Gibson attended a professional event despite the fact that his $14.5 million residence was engulfed in flames during the Los Angeles fires.

The actor revealed that he recorded an episode for the Joe Rogan Experience podcast while his home was ablaze, admitting that it was a difficult choice to make. Gibson expressed that although he felt unwell at the thought of the destruction occurring, he was unable to remain idle and do nothing during that time.

“I was kind of ill at ease while we were talking because I knew my neighborhood was on fire, so I thought, ‘I wonder if my place is still there,’” he told NewsNation’s “Elizabeth Vargas Reports.” “But when I got home, sure enough, it wasn’t there.”

Mel traveled to Austin, Texas early last week, coinciding with the increasing winds, to participate in Rogan’s podcast. At that time, the fires had not yet started, and he acknowledges that he never anticipated coming back to find his Malibu home reduced to ashes.

It’s just a thing but it’s obviously devastating. It’s emotional,” he continued. “You know, we have lived there for a long time.”

An essential element of Mel's residence that endured, nonetheless, was his chicken cooker. “It was amazing. We checked the chicken coop and they were fine,” he revealed. “So we gave them some grain and water and they are happy and laying eggs. They weren’t roast chickens.”

Mel stated that the neighbourhood had been decimated, going on to say, “There was a dozen places or so that were just non-existent. I mean, nothing but a chimney and a few roof tiles, and you dare not walk around for the nails and the whole deal. The vehicles were gone, everything.”

The Braveheart star added, “It was completely toasted. I’ve never seen such a complete burn. It’s like someone did it on purpose to really destroy every aspect of it.”

Over 10,000 buildings have been lost due to the wildfires in Los Angeles, which have devastated more than 30,000 acres and resulted in numerous fatalities. Mel is not the only celebrity whose residence has been affected by the fires; other stars such as Mandy Moore and Spencer Pratt have also reached out to their fans for financial support.

Mel's estimated net worth stands at $425 million, and he possesses several properties beyond his Malibu residence, including locations in Costa Rica, Fiji, and Connecticut.
