Sam Altman's sister, Ann Altman, has initiated legal proceedings claiming that he consistently sexually abused her from 1997 to 2006.
The lawsuit, submitted on January 6 in a United States District Court located in the Eastern District of Missouri, asserts that the abuse commenced when she was three years old and Mr. Altman was twelve.
In a joint statement on X, external, with his mother and two brothers, Mr Altman denied the allegations, saying "all of these claims are utterly untrue."
"Caring for a family member who faces mental health challenges is incredibly difficult," the statement added.
"This situation causes immense pain to our entire family."
In the legal document, Ms. Altman claims that the abuse, which occurred over several years, included instances of rape.
The lawsuit specified that the most recent occurrence of the alleged abuse happened while Mr. Altman was an adult, although she was still a minor at that time.
The legal action seeks a jury trial and damages exceeding $75,000 (£60,100).
Ms. Altman has previously made comparable allegations against her brother on social media platforms, including X.
Mr. Altman is recognized as one of the most prominent figures in the technology sector.

The allegations made by Ann Altman against her brother, Sam Altman, are deeply troubling and raise serious concerns. However, the denials from Sam Altman, supported by his family, cast doubt on the claims.
