Tyler and Catelynn Baltierra Sell $400K Octagon House After Near-Foreclosure
Tyler and Catelynn Baltierra Sell $400K Octagon House After Near-Foreclosure.
The opportunity to acquire a property associated with Teen Mom has now passed, as Tyler and Catelynn Baltierra have successfully sold their octagonal residence. This sale comes at a crucial moment, as the reality television personalities were facing the possibility of foreclosure.
As reported by In Touch, the Zillow listing for the property indicates that it is "under contract," implying that a transaction is nearing completion. Although Tyler and Catelynn have previously attempted to sell their Michigan home, they re-listed it on December 16, 2023, indicating a swift resolution in finding a buyer this time.
The residence boasts three bedrooms and three bathrooms, encompassing over 2,600 square feet of living space. Notable features include a Butler’s pantry, a park-like yard, and a wraparound porch. The home has been fully remodeled while maintaining its historical character and is situated on 15 acres of land.
In July of the previous year, it was disclosed that the couple's home was in jeopardy of foreclosure due to unpaid property taxes for 2022. Catelynn and Tyler have been the owners of this property since 2017.
They initially listed the home for sale in September 2023 at a price of $459,000, approximately six months after purchasing a larger property in Lexington, Michigan, for slightly less at $435,000. By December 2023, they reduced the asking price by $10,000, but ultimately removed it from the market in September 2024 due to insufficient interest. Nevertheless, it appears that a buyer was eventually found, as the property was re-listed just prior to the holiday season.
Catelynn and Tyler are reported to have a net worth of $1 million, although they have faced financial difficulties in the past, similar to several other stars from the Teen Mom series. For instance, Leah Messer has recently encountered another tax lien, which has increased her total debt to over $700,000.
At one point, the couple earned six-figure salaries per season from the Teen Mom franchise; however, it is believed that their compensation has changed following the merger into a single show, resulting in unequal screen time among the cast members.
Their new residence boasts a generous 3,200 square feet of living space, featuring four bedrooms and four bathrooms. However, the property is smaller in terms of land, encompassing only four acres. Constructed in 2000, the home also includes a barn and a pond.
The exact selling price of Tyler and Catelynn’s octagon-shaped home remains uncertain, but given the extended duration it took to secure a buyer, it is possible that the final price was less than their initial expectations.
Tyler and Catelynn Baltierra’s successful sale of their octagonal home marks a positive step forward for the couple, bringing a resolution to their financial challenges. Despite facing the possibility of foreclosure, they managed to find a buyer and close the deal after several attempts.
