Jaime King Moves Out of $10K-a-Month LA Rental After Losing Custody of Kids.

Jaime King has reportedly moved out of her $10,000-a-month rental home in the Hollywood Hills, following a difficult custody battle that saw her lose custody of her children to her ex-husband, Kyle Newman. The actress had been renting the property since April 2023 but recently moved into a more affordable home earlier this month, according to the US Sun.

Photos taken during the move show furniture, including a daybed, mattress, and other household items, left on the curb near trash cans. Sources reveal that King’s decision to downsize came after enduring years of financial difficulties, worsened by her ongoing custody battle and court proceedings.

“She has been struggling with her finances for years now after some failed film ventures,” an insider told the outlet. “But the custody fight and having to fight all the accusations made against her in court drained her bank accounts.”

The model and actress is said to be deeply affected by the loss of custody of her two sons, James, 11, and Leo, 9. “She is taking it very hard to say the least,” the source added. “She has had demons she’s been battling for decades, but her recent troubles have been exacerbated by her family troubles, her career struggling, and financial stress.”

This emotional chapter in King’s life follows a court ruling earlier this week, where she and Newman were granted joint legal custody of their children. However, Newman was awarded sole physical custody and final decision-making rights. King was also granted supervised visitation three times a week, pending her completion of a court-ordered six-month drug and alcohol program, a 26-week parenting course, and counseling.

Newman initially sought sole custody in October 2024, alleging King had been struggling with substance abuse while caring for their children. “Kyle is dealing with a serious situation affecting the safety and well-being of his children and asks for privacy for his children during this difficult process,” Newman’s attorney, Garry M. Gekht, stated at the time.

After a lengthy legal battle following King’s 2020 divorce filing, the ex-couple reached a divorce settlement in 2023 and were reportedly on amicable terms at the time.

Despite these personal and financial setbacks, Jaime King’s resilience and commitment to her children remain strong. As she navigates these challenges, there’s hope that she’ll continue to find healing and stability in her personal and professional life. This period of difficulty could ultimately serve as a turning point for her, leading to new opportunities and growth. Fans continue to rally behind her, supporting her through this trying time.
