Ellie Kemper Lists NYC Central Park-View Apartment for $7.5M.

The star of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” bought her Upper West Side apartment in 2021 for $7.8 million, which puts her at a $300,000 loss now.

After initially listing her New York City apartment in early March for just shy of $8 million, Ellie Kemper has now reduced the asking price for her Central Park West home. The actress and comedian, known for her roles in The Office and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, is now seeking $7.5 million for the combined two-unit space. Unfortunately for her and her husband, comedian and TV writer/producer Michael Koman, that’s $300,000 less than what they originally paid.

Located on the fourth floor of The Ardsley, a 22-story Art Deco building designed by Emery Roth in the early 1930s, this four-bedroom, seven-bath residence boasts 60 feet of Central Park views. The 3,750 square feet of pre-war charm features herringbone wood floors, beamed ceilings, and large casement windows.

A private elevator leads to a landing that connects to two foyers, each leading to different wings of the apartment. The side facing the park includes a cozy living room with a fireplace and custom bookshelves, along with an adjacent library. There are also two spacious bedrooms that could serve as primary suites, both equipped with walk-in closets and updated bathrooms.

Additional features include a dining room and a windowed eat-in kitchen with a colorful glass tile backsplash, a Wolf range, a Sub-Zero fridge, a Miele dishwasher, and a nook with another fridge and a washer and dryer. Two more bedrooms each come with their own bathrooms, and there’s a small office off the kitchen. Plus, a TV room/den is conveniently located next to a wine room that can hold up to 1,000 bottles.

The monthly maintenance fees of $7,709 for the unit cover access to various on-site services and amenities, including a 24-hour doorman and concierge, a fitness center, a children's playroom, a library, and even a dog bath.

Kemper sold a similarly renovated but slightly smaller pre-war apartment in the same Upper West Side area almost three years ago for $3.3 million, as reported by the New York Post. The actress, a two-time Emmy nominee for her leading role in Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, has also been featured in The Office and films like Bridesmaids, 21 Jump Street, Home Sweet Home Alone, and Happiness for Beginners. Recently, she was chosen as “Kohl’s Mom” for the department store's latest marketing campaign.

Ellie Kemper continues to shine both on-screen and off, with a career full of beloved roles. This Central Park-view home is the kind of dream space most of us can only imagine—spacious, elegant, and filled with character.

As someone who’s always dreamed of living in NYC, I can only imagine how magical it must be to wake up every day in a place like this. It must feel like stepping into a movie—where every window frames a scene and every street below buzzes with life and endless possibility.
