Hailey Bieber Considers $1 Billion Sale of Rhode Skincare.
Recently a rumor went viral claiming that Rhode, Hailey's Bieber's beauty and skincare line, had reached a valuation of $1.44 billion.
However, we couldn't find any proof that Rhode had actually secured funding at that valuation—or any funding at all. After some investigation, we speculate that the $1.44 billion figure might have stemmed from a mix-up, possibly generated by AI, where elements from an unrelated story were pieced together.
Specifically, in February 2025, Rhode appointed Nick Vlahos as its new CEO. Nick was previously the CEO of The Honest Company, which went public with a valuation of $1.44 billion. When he joined Rhode, several articles mentioned that IPO figure.
In our view, the viral claims about Rhode raising funds at a $1.44 billion valuation were more of a game of Chinese Whispers that took off on social media than anything with substance.
While the $1.44 billion figure may have originated from a mix-up, it could also be more accurate than people think.
Rhode to Riches
Today, Reuters published a well-sourced article suggesting that Hailey Bieber might genuinely be on the road to that billion-dollar valuation. According to three anonymous sources cited by Reuters, Hailey has enlisted JPMorgan Chase and Moelis to look into a possible sale of Rhode, and the company "could be worth more than $1 billion."
A recent report reveals that Rhode is raking in nearly $200 million annually. That’s a huge leap from previous estimates, which suggested revenue was between $50 and $100 million. If the $200 million figure holds true, a valuation exceeding $1 billion could definitely be on the table. In the beauty industry, many consumer product companies typically sell for 4 to 6 times their revenue, depending on their growth and profitability.
Does This Mean Hailey Bieber Is A Billionaire?
Not just yet. Even if Rhode sells for $1 billion, it doesn’t automatically make Hailey a billionaire… at least not right now. As we mentioned before, Rhode is partly owned by a London-based investment firm called One Luxury Group. The exact ownership percentages haven’t been made public, but let’s say Hailey has between 50% and 70% of the brand. If the sale goes through at $1 billion and she owns 70%, that would net her $700 million before taxes. That’s still incredibly impressive, but it doesn’t quite cross into billionaire status.

Also, it’s important to note: no deal has been finalized yet. This is still in the exploratory phase. Sometimes companies look for buyers and aren’t satisfied with the offers they receive. Other times, the financials might not be as strong as they seem. And occasionally, the valuation leaks are more about aspirations than actual offers.
Rhode Is Absolutely Thriving
Hailey introduced Rhode in June 2022 with a straightforward, minimalist skincare collection. The initial offerings featured the now-famous Peptide Glazing Fluid, Barrier Restore Cream, and Peptide Lip Treatment. The brand aimed to provide affordable luxury skincare with a clean and effective vibe, and the marketing strategy, backed by Hailey's impressive 50+ million Instagram followers, was spot on.
At launch, the excitement was so intense that over 100,000 people were on the waitlist. Products flew off the shelves in minutes. Within just 11 days, Rhode reportedly hit the eight-figure revenue milestone. Since then, the brand has rolled out new flavors of lip treatments (including a popular collaboration with Krispy Kreme), ventured into makeup, and brought on experienced beauty executive Nick Vlahos (previously CEO of The Honest Company) to steer the next growth phase.
