One Direction members gather to honor Liam Payne at his funeral.

Family, friends, and former bandmates came together to pay their respects to Liam Payne, who passed away at the age of 31 just over a month ago. The intimate ceremony was held on Wednesday in Amersham, located in Buckinghamshire, northwest of London. Among those in attendance were Payne's former bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik, along with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy and his ex-partner Cheryl, with whom he shares a son. Liam's coffin was brought to the church in a white horse-drawn hearse adorned with floral arrangements that spelled out "son" and "daddy."

After the service, four pallbearers carried the coffin from St Mary's Church, followed closely by his parents and Cheryl. Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts, members of Girls Aloud, were also present, as was Simon Cowell, the former label head of One Direction, who was seen offering comfort to the grieving family.

Other notable attendees included presenters James Corden, Marvin and Rochelle Humes, Scott Mills, and Adrian Chiles. Floral tributes at the funeral featured a unique arrangement shaped like bowling pins and a ball, reflecting one of Liam's favorite hobbies. While a small group of locals gathered outside the church, fans largely kept their distance, with some members of the One Direction community on Reddit reminding others that "memorials are for fans, funerals are for family."

Liam lived in the nearby village of Chalfont St Giles. He tragically passed away on October 16 after a fall from the third floor of a hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In a heartfelt statement following his death, his family expressed, "We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts, and we'll remember him for his kind, funny, and brave soul." An autopsy revealed that the 31-year-old suffered from internal and external bleeding along with multiple traumatic injuries. Liam was a prominent figure in pop music, having gained fame through The X Factor.

One Direction may have finished third on the show in 2010, but they quickly rose to become the most successful British band since The Beatles. Over their five years together, they sold an impressive 70 million records, including four number one singles and four number one albums in the UK. Liam Payne, who co-wrote many of their popular songs, also found success as a solo artist with hits like Strip That Down and Bedroom Floor. He is remembered by his parents, two sisters, and his son Bear, whom he shared with Girls Aloud singer Cheryl.
