Joshua Jackson’s Ex Claims He Won’t Pay Child Support Despite $8M Net Worth.
Joshua Jackson's former spouse, Jodie Turner-Smith, has claimed that he has not provided child support for their four-year-old daughter, Juno, since their separation over a year ago.
As per court documents obtained by PEOPLE, which were submitted to a Los Angeles Superior Court in late September, Jodie is requesting $8,543 per month in retroactive child support. She asserts that Joshua has not made any child support payments since their separation in October 2023. Additionally, she is pursuing $28,641 per month in spousal support from that same date.
Furthermore, Jodie contends that Joshua should be responsible for covering her legal and forensic expenses, amounting to $250,000.
Jodie is reported to have a net worth of $5 million; however, she indicates that her work has diminished since the arrival of their daughter, identifying herself as the primary caregiver. In contrast, Joshua has "continued to progress in his acting career."
In legal filings, Jodie highlights the age difference between herself and Joshua, contending that her younger age has afforded her less opportunity to establish a foothold in the industry.
"Josh promised to always support me and ensured me that I would not have to worry about financial security for our daughter if we ever separated because he said he understood how difficult life can be as a Black woman and a single mother," She states in the document that she aspires to purchase a home in Los Angeles once her financial situation is more stable.
Jodie and Joshua were initially connected in 2018 and subsequently married in 2019. They welcomed their daughter the following year. However, in October 2023, Jodie filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
Joshua rose to prominence through his role as Pacey Witter on the popular teen television series Dawson’s Creek, which aired from 1998 to 2003. He has since appeared in various television series, including Fringe, The Affair, and Dr. Death, as well as films such as The Skulls and The Mighty Ducks franchise. His estimated net worth is reported to be $8 million.
Jodie asserts that Joshua has earned considerably more than she has in recent years, with earnings exceeding $2 million and an average monthly income of $195,000. Nevertheless, Joshua appears to be hesitant to provide child or spousal support until a legal agreement is established. It seems that their divorce proceedings are still ongoing and have not yet been finalized.
Jodie Turner-Smith's claims about Joshua Jackson’s refusal to provide child and spousal support amid their ongoing divorce proceedings have raised significant concerns. Despite his $8 million net worth, Joshua’s reluctance to fulfill his financial responsibilities towards their daughter, Juno, and his ex-wife reflects poorly on his character.
