“The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles,” Beyonce wrote on Instagram.

“I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss,” she went on. “We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community."

The wildfires in Los Angeles have resulted in the destruction of more than 10,000 buildings in Pacific Palisades and have tragically taken the lives of 16 individuals to date. “BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of 2.5 million dollars,” the caption read.

“The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires,” it stated.

Beyoncé is reported to have a net worth of $760 million, whereas her husband Jay-Z boasts a wealth exceeding $2.5 billion. This is not the first instance in which the couple has utilized their financial resources for philanthropic purposes. In 2021, Beyoncé's BeyGood initiative collaborated with Jay-Z's Shawn Carter Foundation and Tiffany & Co. to contribute $2 million to historically Black colleges and universities.
