Rick Ross Faces $64K Lawsuit from the State of Georgia.
Rick Ross is reportedly facing a significant financial obligation to the state of Georgia, as disclosed in a recent lawsuit. According to court documents examined by In Touch, the Georgia Department of Revenue initiated a tax execution against the rapper late last year, amounting to $64,000 due to unpaid taxes from 2021.
The initial tax bill was $29,000; however, Ross has since incurred over $5,000 in collection fees, $10,000 in interest, and nearly $20,000 in penalties. The court filings indicate a Florida residence for the artist, which he purchased in 2021 for $3.5 million from former NBA player Amara Stoudemire.
While Rick Ross has not publicly addressed his alleged tax liabilities, he is also involved in another legal issue. A lawsuit has been filed against him by Darris Straughter, a paraplegic individual. The plaintiff claims that Ross's Rick Ross Car Show, which promoted itself as wheelchair accessible for its 2024 event, failed to meet this promise, leading to his disappointment when he was denied entry upon arrival.
“Rick Ross marketed his car show as a dream-like visit to his property ‘The Promise Land.’ In reality, it was a land of broken promises and a nightmarish exclusive for [Darris],” Straughter’s lawyer argued.

“[Darris] made it his mission to attend the car show. He saved money year-round to pay for tickets, travel and lodging,” the attorney continued via court documents. “When that was not enough, he sold his car. Mr. Slaughter overcame a slew of obstacles just to reach the car show — only to be denied entry because of his disability.”
Despite assurances otherwise, the car show had no wheelchair accessible shuttles. In fact, the car show lacked wheelchair accommodations altogether (although Darris purchased a $500 VIP pass),” it went on. “As a result, [Darius] sat in his wheelchair under the hot summer sun for several hours while thousands of non-disabled individuals were whisked away to The Promise Land.” Darris’ lawsuit demanded unspecified damages.”
Rick has declined to take responsibility and has requested that the court dismiss the case. The rapper's legal representatives assert that the plaintiff “failed to allege sufficient facts to support.” their claims. The litigation is still in progress.
Rick Ross possesses a net worth exceeding $150 million, accumulated through his music career and his record label, Maybach Music Group. Additionally, he has engaged in various endorsement deals and owns a Wingstop franchise.
