In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Ann Grimmett, a diamond expert and Vice President of Merchandising at Jared Jewelers, assessed the ring's value at approximately $225,000. The Marquise diamond, characterized by its elongated oval shape and pointed ends, is mounted on a pave eternity band and is estimated to weigh around six carats.

“Selena Gomez’s engagement ring is fitting for a talent as rare as hers given less than 5% of diamonds are marquise," the expert said. "The shape represents that what’s old is new again, with a history dating back to the 18th century, but also represents the trend to elongated fancies that we have seen growing rapidly over the past few years."

The price of $225,000 for the ring is substantial; however, some estimates suggest that the value of Selena's engagement ring may be even greater. Following the announcement of her engagement, a report indicated that the ring could be valued at as much as $1 million, considering its size and brilliance.
