Blake Lively not only disrupted the production of It Ends with Us but also significantly exceeded the film's budget, according to claims made by Justin Baldoni in his ongoing legal dispute with her. He is currently countersuing Lively for defamation following her allegations of sexual harassment against him.

Recently, Baldoni launched a website in collaboration with his public relations and legal team, which provides detailed information and a timeline of events pertaining to the case. This site includes evidence indicating that Lively's wardrobe requirements caused the production costs to rise by nearly half a million dollars beyond the initial budget.

One email from a producer reveals that the entire cast was allocated a wardrobe budget of $185,000, a figure that Lively reportedly surpassed on her own. “To date [wardrobe] already spent $615k, and they need their cashet cards all replenished because they’ve only shopped for Justin and Blake,” the email reads.

“They had to reshop everything for Blake after creative changes, but it’s a lot of money,” the producer continued. “I trust them of course, but want to keep you all posted, as this is way more than I’ve ever seen wardrobe go over budget with the initial spend.”

Justin’s legal filing allege similar things. “Ignoring the director’s vision for her character and disposing of the weeks of effort and creativity spent by the wardrobe team on shopping and carefully crafting her wardrobe, Lively sent hundreds of images to the Film’s costume designer, including into the late hours of the evening, depicting the style of wardrobe she wanted for her character,” court documents allege.

“The costume designer had to re-shop Lively’s wardrobe, far exceeding the allocated budget and diverting time and resources while also preparing wardrobes for the rest of the cast,” the filing went on.

Justin's attorney, Bryan Freedman, has recently disclosed the financial impact that the case is imposing on Baldoni and the other individuals involved. Justin's net worth is estimated at $4 million, whereas Blake's is approximately $30 million, and her spouse, Ryan Reynolds, possesses a fortune of $350 million. Despite this, Justin is pursuing $400 million in his countersuit.

“Not to sound like a 4-year-old fighting a 4-year-old with ‘they started it,’ but in these kinds of cases, once someone says something it becomes fact: There’s no way to fight against it,” the lawyer said.

Blake has recently faced an additional legal challenge, as a public relations firm has initiated a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against her, subsequent to Justin's case. It appears that the Lively-Reynolds family will be involved in court proceedings on a regular basis throughout 2025.
