“[Japan is having] a cultural awakening about women’s rights,” the source went on. “What [Kanye] did is being seen as an act of coercive control, which is utterly unacceptable.”
Kanye West dedicated a significant amount of time to Japan during 2023 and 2024, in the wake of considerable criticism in the United States that led to the loss of numerous sponsorships and partnerships, including the longstanding agreement between Yeezy and Adidas.
