Netflix Invests Millions in Meghan Markle's New Show—Where's the Money Going?
Meghan Markle's comeback to TV came with a hefty price tag, but most of that cash didn’t come from her pocket. Netflix reportedly handed her a big budget to create her new series, With Love, Meghan.
As per In Touch, Meghan and her production crew were given millions to play with.
The show, which is a lifestyle series hosted by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, made its debut on Netflix on March 4, 2025. It features eight episodes where she dives into activities like cooking, gardening, and crafting, often joined by friends and special guests. Shot in Montecito, California, the series highlights Meghan's personal tips and tricks.
This project is part of the massive deal Meghan and Prince Harry struck with Netflix back in 2020, which was rumored to be worth around $100 million. The agreement allows them to explore various projects, including unscripted series, films, documentaries, and even kids' shows.
So far, the couple has rolled out several projects, including documentaries like Harry & Meghan and Live to Lead in 2022. The next year saw the release of their docuseries Heart of Invictus, followed by Polo in 2024.
While Harry and Meghan currently reside in a $14.56 million mansion in Montecito, With Love, Meghan was filmed in a nearby farmhouse that Netflix rented for about $8 million, which explains a chunk of the budget.

“I wanted to protect that safe haven,” Meghan explained in an interview of why they chose not to film at their house “Our kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that’s a lot of people to have in your house!”
It looks like a chunk of the budget has been spent on Meghan's clothing. A past report mentioned that the former royal felt the need to don designer outfits to match the Montecito vibe. She’s racked up thousands in wardrobe costs, but it probably isn’t coming from her own wallet, thanks to Netflix's big budget.
“Meghan has always loved designer clothes and fancy things but the crowd she’s fallen in with in Montecito are next-level rich and that has absolutely raised the bar for her when it comes to her own style,” a source told In Touch.
“They all have stylists and think nothing of wearing hundreds of thousands in jewelry, if not millions, on a day-to-day basis,” they went on.
In the trailer, sharp-eyed fans caught a glimpse of a Cartier necklace on her that’s worth more than $13,000. They also noticed her rocking a pricey crewneck sweater that costs a grand. It seems like the upcoming episodes will feature Meghan in just as many high-end outfits.
Meghan Markle’s With Love, Meghan series has certainly come with a hefty price tag, but Netflix’s investment seems to be covering every detail. From renting an $8 million farmhouse to splurging on designer outfits, it’s clear that the production budget is being put to use in a big way.
