Amy Schumer Lists Brooklyn Townhouse, Plans Move Back to Manhattan.
Comedian and actress Amy Schumer is preparing to say goodbye to Brooklyn as she and her husband, chef Chris Fischer, list their Brooklyn Heights townhouse for $14 million. The couple, who purchased the home in 2022 for $12.25 million, are moving back to Manhattan to be closer to their son Gene’s school.
“He got into a good school and we’re too lazy to commute 45 minutes to take our son to school every day,” Schumer said with her signature humor.
The historic townhouse, built in 1829, holds a special place in film history, having served as the exterior for the Castorini family home in the 1987 classic Moonstruck, starring Cher and Nicolas Cage. Despite its storied past, Schumer and Fischer have made their own mark on the property.
“We loved what we moved into,” said Schumer, a New York native. “But we’ve definitely made it our own.”

One of their biggest updates was to the backyard, where they worked with renowned landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburgh, known for his work on Brooklyn Bridge Park. They replaced the brick patio with turf and added a play structure and swing to create a more child-friendly space. “Not that it’s a ton [of space],” Schumer quipped. “You know, it is Brooklyn.”

Spanning roughly 5,600 square feet, the home features five bedrooms, a gym, and a wine cellar. While its generous size has been a luxury, Schumer acknowledged that it feels larger than they need for their small family. “This is a home that is just ready for more people,” she said. Still, she admitted that leaving the neighborhood won’t be easy. “This neighborhood has just been a dream to live here, and I feel very sad to leave.”
