Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos' Wedding Venue Revealed - It's Not Where You Might Think.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have finally shared their wedding plans, and it looks like they’re going for a destination wedding in Venice, Italy. Instead of one of Bezos' many mansions, the couple has chosen to say their vows on his $500 million superyacht.

The 61-year-old Bezos and 55-year-old Sanchez, who got engaged in 2023, are set to celebrate their marriage over three days from June 24 to 26. A spokesperson from the Venice municipality confirmed that the historic city is well-prepared for this extravagant event.

Luca Zuin, a representative for the mayor of Venice, told CNN that the wedding will take place on Bezos' 417-foot yacht, Koru, which will be anchored in the lagoon since it’s too big to navigate the famous Grand Canal.

Initially, the choice of venue raised concerns among locals about the potential effects of such a large event, with rumors suggesting that hundreds or even thousands of guests might flock to the popular tourist destination.

However, the municipality has since addressed these worries, dismissing any doubts about Venice's ability to host this high-profile celebration.

"The many speculations and fake news circulating about Jeff Bezos’ wedding are completely unfounded," the statement read.

"Only 200 guests will have been invited and therefore it will be easy for Venice to accommodate such an event, without any disruption whatsoever to the city, its residents and visitors.

"The [organizers] have categorically not booked large amounts of gondolas or excessive numbers of water taxis and it is their utmost priority to make sure the city functions as normal, for all, with no abnormal disruption to anyone."

It was then reported that Mayor Luigi Brugnaro and the municipality are "mutually working and supporting the organizers to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city."

People magazine reports that the guest list for the upcoming wedding will feature Kim Kardashian, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Karlie Kloss, Eva Longoria, Kris Jenner, along with members of Sanchez's all-female Blue Origin Space crew, including Katy Perry and Gayle King.

Initially, it was said that Bezos and Sanchez would tie the knot on December 28, 2024, in a winter wonderland setting in Aspen. However, as that date passed without any wedding, speculation arose that they might be aiming for a summer 2025 ceremony instead.

An insider shared that the entire event is set to be extravagant and luxurious, revealing that Sanchez has already chosen a wedding dress from renowned designer Oscar de la Renta, whose white gowns start at $9,000 and have been worn by celebrities like Naomi Watts and Amal Clooney.

"You won't miss this one when it happens," said the source, which comes as little surprise given Bezos' extraordinary wealth.

When Bezos popped the question to Sanchez, he did it on Koru with a stunning diamond ring estimated to be between 20 and 30 carats, valued at around $2.5 million. Reports say the beautiful brunette was so taken aback that she "blacked out" upon seeing it.

Now that they've chosen Italy as their wedding destination, the couple had plenty of other options for their big day, including several of their own properties.

Bezos' real estate portfolio has always drawn attention, especially given his massive wealth. Interest peaked in 2023 when he announced that he and Sanchez were relocating their main home from Washington to Florida, a move he said was mainly to be closer to his parents.

In February 2024, it came to light that this move also brought him a significant financial benefit: he could save hundreds of millions in taxes.

A CNBC report indicated that the entrepreneur could save "at least $610 million" in taxes that he would have incurred had he remained a full-time resident of Washington state.

Before this transition, Bezos—whose net worth is currently estimated at $214 billion by Bloomberg—had primarily resided in his properties in Medina, a wealthy suburb of Seattle, where he had been acquiring homes for years.

Bezos started his e-commerce venture in Washington state in the mid-90s and built an impressive compound there. However, he has now declared Florida as his new home base—and he has the properties to back it up.

Bezos is among a select group of billionaires with properties in the exclusive Washington area of Medina, where notable figures like Bill Gates and former Microsoft executive Charles Simonyi also reside.

Just four years after launching Amazon, Bezos and his then-wife, MacKenzie Scott, acquired two homes on a 5-acre lot in Hunts Point for $10 million. In 2010, they reportedly invested $28 million in renovations for the estate, which features 310 feet of private shoreline and its own boathouse.

To enhance both space and privacy, Bezos bought a neighboring property that same year—a massive 24,000-square-foot mansion that was listed for $53 million. It's unclear if he paid the full asking price or managed to negotiate a better deal.

This mansion became Bezos's main home for the next ten years until he announced his relocation to Florida in 2023. For now, it seems he’s holding onto his Seattle property.

Additionally, the billionaire owns three luxurious homes on Indian Creek Island, with the latest acquisition reportedly costing $90 million in 2024. Reports suggest he plans to demolish the other two properties, which he bought for a total of $147 million, and live in the newest one while waiting for construction to finish.

Known as the "Billionaire Bunker" due to its affluent residents, Indian Creek Island is also home to his close friend Ivanka Trump and NFL star Tom Brady. Bezos is believed to be the wealthiest resident there.

The neighborhood, which consists of just 34 homes and around 40 residents, is secured by its own police force, providing top-notch safety for its affluent homeowners.

As the owner of the renowned Washington Post, Bezos also possesses a historic estate in the capital, which he reportedly purchased for $23 million in 2017. This DC property features two large historical buildings along with a chauffeur’s residence and garage, offering nearly 27,000 square feet of living space.

The whole property spans over 34,000 square feet and features beautifully landscaped gardens and lawns. It was promoted as an ideal location for a school, embassy, or a remarkable private residence.

The founder of Blue Origin also owns a lavish pied-à-terre in New York City, where he bought a $16 million, three-bedroom apartment in 2020. On top of that, he has invested in $80 million worth of units in the same building, which includes a three-story penthouse and two apartments directly below it. In 2019, he filed for building permits to merge these units.

His extravagant spending extended to the West Coast, where in 2020, Bezos made headlines by purchasing David Geffen's Los Angeles mansion for a staggering $165 million, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. Known as the Warner Estate, this 9-acre property was originally built for Jack Warner, the former president of Warner Bros.

According to the Journal, the estate boasts "spacious terraces, vast gardens, multiple guest houses, a tennis court, and its own nine-hole golf course."

In 2021, the Amazon founder reportedly added another property to his collection. He and Sanchez acquired a 14-acre estate on Maui, Hawaii, for around $78 million in an off-market deal.

This property is said to feature a 4,500-square-foot main house, a 1,700-square-foot guesthouse, and a 700-square-foot pool. It includes seven parcels of land and a fish pond, along with a private white-sand beach.

The couple also owns a large ranch in West Texas, located just north of Van Horn. Bezos bought this property in 2004 because it reminded him of his childhood on his grandfather's land in Cotulla, TX. The exact amount he paid for the 400,000-acre ranch remains undisclosed.

The ranch is home to the 10,000-Year Clock, designed to keep time for 10,000 years, which inspired Sanchez to contemplate her future with Bezos, as mentioned in Vogue.

Sanchez also shared that Bezos has a space-themed bar called the Kármán Line Bar situated on the West Texas ranch.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez have clearly put a lot of thought into making their wedding an unforgettable experience, choosing the romantic backdrop of Venice and the opulence of the Koru yacht for their special day.

Their love story, marked by shared passions, philanthropy, and a spirit of adventure, now adds another chapter with this spectacular celebration. With an intimate guest list and attention to local sensitivities, it’s shaping up to be both elegant and respectful. Here’s hoping their big day is filled with joy, love, and unforgettable memories—truly a wedding to remember for two people who clearly cherish each other deeply.
