St. Regis Aspen Owner Expands to Snowmass with Surf Lodge Twist.
Luxury hotel power couple Stephane and Sabrina De Baets, the visionary owners behind Aspen’s iconic St. Regis, are making big moves in Colorado’s ski country. Page Six has exclusively learned that they’ve acquired not one, but two prime properties in neighboring Snowmass Village: the 254-room Viewline Resort and the 145-room Wildwood hotel.

“Snowmass is the best skiing in Colorado,” Stephane tells us. “It’s the Yin of Aspen’s Yang.” The De Baetses plan to transform both resorts into vibrant luxury destinations, complete with elevated design, a stronger sense of community, and what Stephane promises will be “a lot of fun.”
The Viewline, a ski-in/ski-out hotel, will get a full revamp to enhance the guest experience, while the Wildwood offers room for unique experiences targeting Snowmass’s more laid-back, snowboarder-friendly vibe. Locals praise Snowmass for its incredible slopes and low-key charm—a perfect contrast to Aspen’s glam.

At the St. Regis Aspen, the couple have already created a winter sensation with The Snow Lodge, a cold-weather counterpart to Montauk’s famed Surf Lodge. The après-ski hotspot has drawn celebrities like Katy Perry, Shaun White, Riley Keough, and DJ Black Coffee, who headlined the season’s grand finale with Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, J. Balvin, Julianne Hough, and Miles Teller in attendance.

In even bigger news, the Snow Lodge is no longer a seasonal pop-up—it’s going permanent. And we hear new collaborations between the De Baetses and Surf Lodge founder Jayma Cardoso are in the works.
Beyond the slopes, the couple is also revitalizing the historic Redstone Castle, a 25,127-square-foot Gilded Age estate built in 1902 by coal baron John Cleveland Osgood. Once host to John D. Rockefeller and Teddy Roosevelt, the castle is now being reimagined as a cutting-edge wellness retreat, complete with hydrotherapy, RAKxa Wellness Spa treatments, holistic programming, and top-tier medical and nutritional services.

From turning Snowmass into a soulful sister to Aspen, to preserving history at Redstone Castle, their vision balances opulence with community and wellbeing. With permanent plans for The Snow Lodge and innovative projects on the horizon, the couple is cementing their legacy as tastemakers of Colorado’s next generation of elevated alpine escapes.
